MANILA- The social research institution Social Weather Stations (SWS) denies results stipulating that Vice President Jejomar Binay reclaims percentage points in the presidential election poll, while Mayor Rodrigo Duterte shakes off some.
According to SWS, there were no surveys conducted from April 20-23.
''Social Weather Stations hereby informs the public that it has not conducted any survey on voter preferences during the period of April 20-23, 2016, as stated in the SMS messages being passed around, reported in some radio programs, and posted in social media yesterday,'' the SWS confirmed on Wednesday.
''Everyone is reminded to rely only on the SWS website at http://www.sws.org.ph for its official media releases and public reports”.
The Facebook page “BoodleNews” posted the poll that shows Binay acquiring 9 additional percentage points (from 14% to 23%), while Duterte lost 6 (33% to 27%). The same was also seen in the post made by another page “Binay Pa Rin 2016”.
In the recent SWS survey held last April 18-20, results presented that election ratings of Duterte, running under the banner of PDP-Laban, rises from 27% to 33%.
Placing 2 in the race is the independent candidate Sen. Grace Poe, who acquired 24% voter preference rating, with 1 percentage point up from the previous poll.
Liberal Party’s presidential candidate Mar Roxas ranked third with 19%, while United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) standard-bearer, Vice-President Jejomar Binay placed fourth with 14%.
In the last place for the 2016 presidential race is Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago with 2% rating.
