A series of tweets from celebrities Lea Salonga, Megan Young and Jed Madela about fat-shaming as a conversation starter went viral on social media.
KAMI learned about the story from Fashion Pulis.
Megan tweeted first about rude people who comment on other people’s weight to start a conversation.
“Commenting on someone’s weight as a conversation starter just completely ends it,” Megan wrote.
Jed responded to Megan’s tweet by saying that he has been experiencing that a lot.
“So true. I’m always a victim of that. If only I could find a mean bone in me to reply back,” Jed commented.
Lea had a reply to Jed’s complaint.
Other netizens shared their opinion on the subject.
“I'll never understand why the vast majority of Filipinos think saying, "tumaba ka" is an acceptable way to open a conversation. Kaasar ha,” a netizen wrote.
“Ohmy, that is soo rude. Ppl be fat-shaming and they think its funny,” another online user posted.
