Actress-blogger Saab Magalona shared her reaction towards the alleged contradictions of the statements of President Rodrigo Duterte and PNP Chief Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa regarding their war on crime.
KAMI learned about her comments from her Twitter.
The contradiction that Saab was referring to was Bato’s recent statement:
"Walang sinabi si Presidente sa akin na pumatay kayo nang pumatay."
Saab also asked God to give her strength in the midst of her frustration with the government.
“Sobrang jirits (irritated) pls LORD GIVE ME STRENGTH,” Saab commented.
She also slammed the defense of President Duterte’s supporters that the public should not take seriously everything that the President says.
"I mean, shall we ignore the other headlines?! Lahat nalang joke. Kadiri,” Saab posted.
Many netizens agreed with the actress-blogger.
Here are some of their reactions:
“I wonder how that guy would feel if his loved ones would be the casualty of that joke.”
“that's what you get when the government is headed by a clown.”
“Your master's got no tissues for you. He's a coward that's back tracking and lying to save his own skin.”
However, there are some netizens who criticized Saab’s tweets:
“Criminals have no Manual of Operations. If they have guns, will you gamble the life of our police officers?”
“Fourth pic. The text says ‘likely in jest’. But if you want it all to be literal, then ok.”
“Never mind the context, nuances, individual cases. Basta lahat EJK! Yes?”
Saab decided to respond to the netizen who spoke about being mindful of the context of each case.
“Framing people para mukhang ‘nanlaban’ so you can kill them… Ano pa bang context ang kailangan mo?” Saab asked.
The netizen fired back, saying that not every person killed by the police since the start of Duterte’s administration was innocent.
“Would you say the same for ALL victims? Were ALL victims executed by PNP? Were ALL PNP men killers/murderers? Nuance. Context,” the netizen responded.
KAMI is hoping and praying for peace and unity in our country!
