Good news starts middle of May for all government employees as they are about to receive their midyear bonus as announced by Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
Based on the circular dated April 28, Budget Secretary Florencio “Butch” Abad said that Executive Order (EO) No. 201 is signed by P’Noy. It mandates the grant of a midyear bonus that equals to one month basic salary.
Government employees in both civilian and military personnel shall receive this additional benefit by May 15. Employees at government owned or controlled corporations (GOC’s) will not be covered for they have a different Compensation and Position Classification System or CPCS under EO 203.
The yearend bonus also equivalent to one month basic pay as well as the cash gift of five thousand pesos would be given not earlier than November 15 as DBM adds. Before, the thirteenth month pay was given in two parts: May and November. EO 201 augments the compensation of civilian personnel and gave added allowance for military and uniformed personnel.
DBM will soon deliver to agencies the Special Allotment Release Order for midyear bonuses based on the number of filled positions as of April 30 and reflected on the Government Manpower Information System, after which the corresponding Notices of Cash Allocation will also be released not earlier than May 15.
