CNN Philippines newscaster Amelyn Veloso passes away at 43 due to liver cancer

Netizens were heartbroken after news of CNN Philippines anchor Amelyn Veloso’s death surfaced online. She was only 43 at the time of her death.

She passed away on Thursday, August 24, after battling with liver cancer.

According to CNN Philippines, she was with her husband Rodney, mother Amelita and 14-year-old son Gab in her final hours.

Veloso, born on April 25, 1974, was a part of “The Big News” in ABC-5 back in 1999.

She also became a part of TV-5 news shows such as Sentro, Sapul sa Singko, Aksyon and Balitaang Tapat.

In 2013, Veloso transferred to Solar News, which is now CNN Philippines.

Her last program for the network was Serbisyo All Access.

Her friends, co-workers, and netizens expressed their sadness on social media over Veloso’s death.
