According to reports, vice presidential candidate Chiz Escudero knocked down all the rumors regarding the alleged fistfight with Grace Poe’s husband, Teodoro Misael Llamanzares.
A few days ago, Llamanzares supposedly punched Francis “Chiz” Escudero in the face for the missing P300 million funds. Now the senator shares his side of the story.
Chiz denied the allegations in a statement: “Hindi po totoo ‘yan, malapit kami ni Neil, ni Sen. Grace at ang mga pamilya namin.” (That is not true; Neil, Senator Grace, our families, and I are all close.)
Grace Poe’s running mate also hit his bashers hard regarding this issue: “Wala na ba silang maisip na ibang issue at intriga at pilit na lang nilang ginagamit at binabalikan...” (Can’t they think of other issues and intrigues that they’re always using and repeating this issue?)
“Noong una nagsigawan, sumunod nag-away. Ngayon, palapit na talaga ang eleksyon, sapakan na talaga. Wala naman, ano. Wala namang tama,” Chiz said. (At first it was shouting, next fighting. Now that elecetion is nearing, it escalated to fistfighting. None of those really happened.)
Chiz Escudero even showed that he didn’t have any bruises to prove that the fight didn’t happen.
When pressed if this fight ensued after he allegedly used the missing P300 million funds, Chiz said: “Si Senator Grace Poe ang bumabalikat ng gastusin pati na rin ng team Galing at Puso sa pag-iikot namin sa ibat ibang parte ng bansa kasama yung aming senatorial slate.” (Senator Grace Poe shoulders all the costs and including the team Galing at Puso as they make rounds in the different parts of the country along with the senatorial slate.)
Since Poe is the one shouldering the costs and holding the funds, she was asked if she used the missing P300 million to bribe Miriam Defensor Santiago, she answered: “Siguradong hindi ako ‘yon, at kung meron man akong ganoon, gagamitin ko na lang sa kampanya ko o kaya ipamimigay natin sa mas makabuluhang paraan kasi mataas ang pagrespeto ko kay Sen. Miriam.” (It’s not me for sure, even if I had that money, I would only use it for my campaign or utilize it for a more meaningful way because I have high respects for Senator Miriam.)
