Alfie passed away on August 1 at a hotel casino in Pasay City due to cardiac arrest.
He was 78 at the time of his death.
Entertainment columnist Lolit Solis expressed her love for Alfie and her deep sadness over his death.
Isah Red, the entertainment editor for Manila Standard, also posted on social media about the death of his friend Alfie.
Members of the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEED), who used to work with Alfie when he was still alive, also expressed their sadness online.
