Can you handle The Mountain diet?
Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, the actor who played the eye-gouging character called The Mountain in the TV series Game of Thrones, revealed that he got his colossal physique by eating 9 heavy meals a day with snack breaks in between.
The actor who plays Ser Gregor Clegane shared his insane diet plan on his Facebook and Instagram accounts, as he prepares for the World’s Strongest Man 2016 competition.
The 27-year-old Icelandic actor consumes around 10,000 calories a day, four times the amount that an average person eats per day.
The Mountain diet starts at 6:50 in the morning and ends just before midnight. There is also one raw egg snack in the middle of the night.
He eats every two hours to maintain his body mass and stuffs himself with a lot of almonds, oats, rice krispies, and fruits like strawberries, blueberries, banana and avocado.
His meals include beef, sweet potatoes, chicken, salmon, a mix of greens, peanut butter and lots of eggs.
He incorporates cardio and weight training workouts in between meals and also takes protein supplements.
Björnsson however, warned those who are planning to follow his extreme diet by saying “Yes this is a lot & I don't recommend YOU to try this!!” at the photo’s caption.
Björnsson won Iceland’s strongest man competition five years in a row and has two bronze medals for World’s Strongest Man contest. In 2014, he was declared Europe’s Strongest Man.
In February 2015, he made history when he broke a 1,000 year old weight-lifting record at the World’s Strongest Viking competition by lifting a 30-foot log that weighed 1,433 lbs, and carrying it for about 5 steps.
