Whang-od Oggay, is a 100-year-old Filipina tattoo artist from Buscalan, Tinglayan, Kalinga, Philippines.
She is considered as the last mambabatok from the Butbut people. She has been applying traditional tattoos on headhunters and women of the tribal people of Butbut in Kalinga.
Tattoos are gained by traditional men who fought protecting villages and killing enemies. But because of today's modern day, the traditional ways of traditional tattoos has been since decreasing.
Lead actor of FPJ's Ang Probinsyano, Coco Martin has sent gifts to Whang-od leaving her moved and in tears as she received the gifts.
Coco Martin posted this on Instagram with a caption, "See you soon La."
Coco Martin's team journeyed to Whang-od and interviewed the tattoo artist about her longing wish for him to visit her.
She said in an interview that she is fond of Coco Martin since the young actor wasn't into kissing scenes.
She mentioned that in her place - Busculan, they didn't like kissing scenes in television series that's why she preferred watching Coco's shows instead of others.
She also left an advice to Coco Martin regarding of choosing the right woman to marry.
“’Pag mag-aasawa ka Coco, dapat maghanap ka ng maganda gaya ng iyong kagandahan. Tingnan mo rin ‘yung mabait na aalagaan ka niya para hindi ka kawawa sa huli. Sayang ang iyong kagwapuhan.” Whang-Od said in an interview.
She said in another video that she is planning to do special designs of tattoos to Coco Martin.
She plans to tattoo a symbol of a centipede python for it represents a 'warrior' as she always enjoyed Coco Martin's protagonist role in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano.
