Ericka Villongco revealed the truth about her breakup with ex-boyfriend James Reid

Did you know that before dating Nadine Lustre, James Reid used to be in a relationship with singer Ericka Villongco? Both of them have revealed why they broke up.

KAMI learned about their story from Mr. Tsismoso, Philippine Star and ABS-CBN.

“We went steady for more than three years and then we broke up. It was a bad breakup,” Ericka revealed.

Was there a third party involved?

“No, there was no third party. James was loyal, he was faithful, very loving,” she explained.

She also spoke about how James courted her.

“We started out as friends. He was very honest. He has a unique style of courting, direct to the point, very honest,” the singer said.

Ericka also spoke about her friendship with Nadine.

“Nadine is very lovely, down-to-earth. After I broke up with James, we even talked. She told me, ‘I’m here for you.’ I’m happy for her team-up with James,” she stated.

James had also opened up about his breakup with Ericka.

"I wanted take my showbiz career seriously and I found it too hard at the same time --handling both a relationship and work --and I had such a big opportunity. I didn't want to waste it. She understood naman," the actor said.
