The villain moms or the kontrabida mothers have been an essential character of the Philippine TV. Their character is already considered as a staple ingredient that makes a television series exciting and successful. And they keep on evolving through the years and their presence is well notable.
Today, our nerves couldn't get over with the distasteful prejudice of Senyora Margarita of Ika-6 na Utos in the Kapuso network, and the devilry of Emilia in the Wildflower.
But before these two remarkable characters of new generation Kontrabida Moms, here are the most prominent Kontrabida mothers in the Philippine television series, and their despicable ways to win the game and have everything within their means.

8. Barbara Tengco of Abangan Ang Susunod Na Kabanata ( ABS-CBN )
One of the longest running sitcoms of the Kapamilya network during the 90s is Abangan Ang Susunod Na Kabanata, and one of the most notable characters that we seemingly despise and love at the same time due to the impeccable portrayal of Tessie Tomas is Barbara Tengco.

She's the self-obsessed mother of Dino Tengco played by Anjo Yllana. Her portrayle led her to the only Kontrabida mother from a sitcom in this top 8 list.
The sitcom started on February 4, 1991, and ended on June 20, 1997. It has been 2 decades since the show has ended.
7. Donya Trinidad "Trini" Braganza of Valiente ( ABS-CBN & GMA )
Valiente is one of the notable series on Philippine TV. It was first aired in ABS-CBN in 1992 to 1995, and then, it was on GMA in 1992 to 1997. Thereafter, TV5 made their own version of the popular TV series in 2012. However, we couldn't forget Donya Trinidad "Trini" Braganza played by one of the perfect Kontrabidas of all time, Odette Khan.

Donya Trini was ridiculously wicked that she was even scarier than the main villain of the series. Hence, it was emotionally purging when she had a taste of her own medicine as she undergone her karmic downfall.

6. Stella Quintana of Villa Quintana (GMA )
Villa Quintana was one of the popular primetime TV series of GMA 7 that flared up the loveteam of Donna Cruz and Kempee De Leon. It was shown on November 6, 1995 until January 24, 1997.

Stella Quintana played by Isabel Rivas was the ideal kontrabida of Lynette and Isagani. Isabel Rivas is one of the most remarkable character actresses of all time. She plays the role with utmost class and wickedness.
5. Victoria Amarillo of Ysabela ( ABS-CBN )
Ysabella that starred Ryan Agoncillo and Judy Ann Santos couldn't be spicier without Victoria Amarillo played by an exquisitely brilliant actress, Coney Reyes. The latter showcased her impressive and relentless villain acting prowess as she doesn't stop at any cost to protect and prosper her own family.

4. Claudia Buenavista of Pangako Sa'Yo ( ABS-CBN )
Who can forget Claudia Buenavista? Jean Garcia proved to us that she's one of the finest actresses the Philippine entertainment ever has. She's Yna's adoptive mother who's notably played by Kristine Hermosa.

Before the KathNiel, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, it was Kristine Hermosa and Jericho Rosales who made the characters popular. 3. Corazon Roxas-Berenguer of Maging Sino Ka Man ( ABS - CBN )
Maging Sino Ka Man was shown in 2006 and ended in 2007, but started a new book in 2007 that lasted until 2008 with additional characters spicing up the series. However, one distinct role we could never forget was Corazon Roxas-Berenguer .
