-As early as now, directors and writers are starting to create films for Metro Manila Film Festival

-It can be mainstream or indie. The main point is to showcase Filipino movies and there are only limited slots that can be accepted

-We have give the top possible movies for MMFF

Metro Manila Film Festival is a festival for films that happens yearly starting from December 25 up to the first week of January of the following year.

The main point of the the festival is to showcase Filipino Movies and will not allow foreign movies to join and be shown except in IMAX dnad 3D theaters.

On June 30, 2017, The committee of MMFF will release its first top 4 films and on October 30th for the next top remaining films.

All films that will make it to the final top will have the slots for the Manila Film Festival of 2017. The finalists will be revealed on November 17, 2017.

They also changed the criteria for this year's film with the following:

Artistic Excellence 40%, Commercial Appeal 40%, Filipino Cultural and/or Historical Values 10%, Global Appeal 10%

Here are the list of the possible films for this year MMFF:

1. Citizen Jake starring Atom Araullo, with Cherie Gil, Dina Bonnevie, Victor Neri, Gabby Eigenmann, Luis Alandy, Max Collins, Nonie Buencamino, Richard Quan. Direction: Mike de Leon

2. Super Heroes (Star Cinema) with Vice Ganda, Pia Wurtzbach and Daniel Padilla. Direction: Joyce Bernal

3. Ang Panday (Star Cinema and Coco Martin Productions) starring Coco Martin (among others). Direction: Coco Martin

4. My Fairy Tail Love Story (Regal Entertainment and TheIdeaFirst Company) with Janella Salvador and Elmo Magalona. Direction by Perci Intalan

5. Buy Bust (Reality Entertainment and Viva Films) with Anne Curtis, Brandon Vera, and Victor Neri. Direction by Erik Matti

6. Bagtik (Cape Signal Rock) with Christian Bables, Mara Lopez, Arnold Reyes, Daria Ramirez. Direction by Chito S. Roño

7. Ang Larawan The Musical (Culturtain Musicat Productions) with Rachel Alejandro, Joanna Ampil and Paulo Avelino. Direction by Loy Arcenas

8. Ang Sikreto ng Piso (MPJ Entertainment Productions) with Alfred Vargas, Judy Ann Santos, Joey Marquez, Wendell Ramos (all being confirmed). Direction by Perry Escaño

9. Deadma Walking (T-Rex Entertainment) by Joross Gamboa, Edgar Allan Guzman, Candy Pangilinan, Bobby Andrews. Direction by Julius Ruslin Alfonso

10. Tuwa, Luha, Saya: Memoirs of Timog (Utmost Productions) with McCoy De Leon, Elisse Joson, and Lorna Tolentino (being confirmed). Direction by Roderick Lindayag

11. A film starring Jennylyn Mercado and Jericho Rosales (Quantum Films). Direction by Dan Villegas

12. A film from TEN17P, produced by Paul Soriano (details to be announced)

13. A film from TBA Studios (details to be announced)

14. A film starring Vic Sotto (Octo Arts Films and MZet Films), director to be confirmed

15. A film from BG Productions International (details to be announced)

16. A film from Cineko Productions and ATD Entertainment (details to be announced)
