Myrtle Sarrosa’s stroke of luck into showbiz came in the form of her joining and winning ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition 4’ a few years back. Since coming out of the proverbial house, she appeared on different projects in the Kapamilya network, and ventured into acting, singing, and hosting. But after only a few years, her career seemed to have dwindled and taken a backseat.
KAMI learned from PEP.ph that Myrtle has enrolled herself in the University of the Philippines - Diliman. For the past six years, she burned the midnight oil studying BA Broadcast Communication.
All her sacrifices have truly proven worthy, because she will soon be marching up on stage to receive her diploma! But mind you, she’s getting so much more! Myrtle will be graduating as a ‘cumlaude’!
It sure did not come easy for this cosplayer, as she shared the difficulties she had to endure to get to where she is now.
“Walang tulog tapos sa school yung class ko from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm tapos the following day magte-taping uli, so challenge talaga siya para sa akin.
Myrtle considers this as her greatest gift to her parents. According to her, both her mom and dad have been very supportive of all her endeavors, so it’s high time for her to give back to them the best way she knows.
And, well, you know what they say: “When it rains, it pours.” Myrtle found this to be very true, because now that she’s done with school, she can focus some more on her showbiz career and get back on the game.
She is a regular on the newest Kapamilya teleserye ‘La Luna Sangre’, and she portrays "Terrene", the evil vampire Sandrino’s (Richard Gutierrez) righthand.
“Actually, sobrang blessed ko.
“Right after kong matapos yung finals exam ko, ang daming dumating na projects.
“I’ll be doing dalawang films under Regal tapos ngayon, kabilang ako sa La Luna Sangre.
“Masaya talaga ako na I pursued my studies.
Myrtle on her advice to anyone who wants to pursue their studies despite working at the same time:
“Hindi ‘yan mananakaw ng ibang tao kasi yung mga natutuhan mo talaga, will stay with you forever."
KAMI wants to further stress the importance of education. It is one’s greatest wealth in life, something you take with you wherever you go, throughout your lifetime. It doesn’t matter how long it takes to finish school, but please, start now and forever be on the quest for knowledge. Make everyday a learning experience!
