Evie Farrel lost her best friend to cancer. Her friend was only 42 and had two children. That was when she pulled up short and examined her life and decided that her money could be spent on things or on experiences but not on both. She had been saving up to renovate her kitchen when she realised that the $30,000 could be spent sharing experiences with her daughter and building up memories that would live with them forever.
She decided to take a sabbatical of one year. That was in 2016. She has extended this as the time spent experiencing things with her daughter could not be measured in money. She homeschooled her daughter Emily, using the things they saw as a basis for her education.
The experience has added to Emily’s other travel experiences. Evie first took Emily on her travels when she was just 4 months old. By the time that Emily was 2 years old the pair had already travelled extensively. Travel has broadened Emily’s mind and has made her aware that there is a lot to experience in this world of ours.
To help Emily remember their experiences Evie takes lots of photos and videos and records the details of the trip in a blog. Inspiremore.com commends them for their courage.
