Anna and Terry had been dating for a year. His 1 year anniversary present to her was a necklace. A very special necklace that he had hand carved from a piece of Huon Pine. Encased in the necklace was a piece of a spiral shell. Anna valued it for its beauty and for the fact that it was made with love. She loved to wear it daily.
For the next year and a half pictures of her wearing the necklace formed a lovely documentation of their love. They travelled to various places and took photos of the necklace. Pictures were taken of Anna sitting quietly at home and always the necklace featured prominently. It became a symbol of their love.
Their travels took them to Smoo Cove in Scotland. Smoo means “hiding place” in Norse. Terry asked her to let him take some pictures of the necklace on the rocks. While he had it he broke a seal that separated the front of the necklace from the back. He set up his camera – put on the timer and rushed back to record the revealing of the necklace’s hiding place. As he gave it back to her, he separated the two halves to reveal the engagement ring that nestled inside.
“Inspire More” reports that she said yes!
