Briefly learned from Small Joys that a mother’s baby went missing after taking her to the hospital, only to find her in the arms of a stranger.
Lory Snyder reported that she had taken her daughter, Lorelai, to the hospital as she was bleeding.
Lory later placed her 4-month-old baby in a hospital room to rest, where she decided to rest too. Not long after, Lory woke up and realized that her baby wasn’t in the room with her anymore. Not only was Lorelai missing but so was her IV pole and diaper bag.
Lory went to the room next to her to see if she could find anyone to help, only to find her baby in the arms of a stranger. The person that was holding her baby was believed to be a patient.
It has been reported that Lory tried taking her baby away from her, but the woman kept saying that Lory must leave the baby with her, and Lory must go back to rest. Lory was able to retrieve her daughter and then proceeded back to her room where she was followed by the patient. The nurses had stated that the patient meant no harm, but the patient continually told Lory to give the baby to her so that she was able to rest.
Lory had stated that it’s not right for a person to just take someone’s baby without their permission, even if there was no intended harm.
