The upcoming Darna movie has caused quite a stir on social media, with netizens choosing their personal bets as to who will portray the characters in the superhero remake.
And while the 'Darna' role is safely tucked under Liza Soberano’s belt, many are still left speculating who will portray the villainess, Valentina.
Sarah Lahbati is one strong contender, as her name often gets pitched-in most of the time.
Sarah Lahbati made the “big move” upon her decision to do a network transfer last year. Along with it, blessings continue to pour as different work engagements come her way.
This ASAP regular shares her thoughts on the possibility of her portraying 'Valentina':
“pati ako, nagkukuwestiyon kung sino nga ba si Valentina. Pero (kung) para sa akin, para sa akin. Kung para sa iba, para sa iba. Pero siyempre, susuportahan ko pa rin.”
According to the star, while she often hears her name being considered to play the baddie, no one has really approached her yet of anything.
However, she would definitely be really happy if she was ever given the chance to do the role:
“And you know, Direk Erik Matti ‘to, ‘di ba? I would love to work with Direk Erik kung saka-sakali.”
“I love to portray a villain. When I was a kid, I would watch superheroes always. Superhero movies. Talagang it’s something close to my heart. Nagmu-Muay Thai ako at boxing so I’m very boyish on that way na alam kong kaya kong lumaban sa mga fight scenes.”
Sarah was quick to add that she does not want to expect anything, lest it be given to someone else. And while she is happy that people actually believe she’d do the role justice, she is open to the possibility of someone else actually bagging the role.
“Siyempre, ayoko rin umasa kasi, alam kong kung meant to be for me, meant to be. Kung para sa iba, para sa iba."
Sarah also said she’d support the movie no matter who gets picked for the 'Valentina' role.
On her thoughts about going up against Anne Curtis, who is also a strong candidate for the antagonist role, Sarah had this to say:
“Ay naku, kung sino man ang mapili, I will support. Kung si Anne man, I will support her. We’re both from VIVA. We’re VIVA sisters and she’s a good person and I know that she will do well kung siya sakali ang mapili.”
Sarah has met Liza Soberano a few times on ASAP, where she personally congratulated the latter on bagging the superhero title role.
