Locals were worried after finding a baby jaguar who collapsed as they were walking through a forest in Ecuador.
They immediately brought the 11-month-old cub who was named D'Yaria to an animal hospital and doctors found out that the jaguar was paralyzed after being shot 18 times.
Everyone thought that D'Yaria will not be able to survive because of her severe condition yet the vets in Darwin Animal Doctors led by Dr. Andres Ortega and Dr. Cris Cely successfully removed the pellets.
Dr. Cely said:
"This is an area where people have cattle, and jaguars are known for going into farms and killing cattle, so what the locals do is just kill the jaguars to preserve the cattle. It's very sad."
This is a reminder from KAMI to stop shooting wild animals and stop animal cruelty in any form.
