KAMI learned that last 2006, Clare Mauremootoo who is a mother-of-two was diagnosed with motor neurone disease which is a progressive condition that attacks the nerves in the brain and spinal cord.
After her ankle was twisted and failed to heal for three months, the doctors then revealed that she had a progressive disease.She was confined to a wheelchair within a month.
January 2007, she was moved to a hospice. After a month, she then said goodbye to her sons Jack and Ben. That's also when he told his husband to look for another love and a mother-figure for their sons.
They spent her final months laughing, making memories as Clare tried to set her husband up on dates with the nurses caring for her at their local hospice.
Later that year, he met Julie Macfarlane on a dating website, moved in together by March 2008 then tied the knot by April 2012, John upholding his promise to Clare.
