Kris Aquino, sister of President Benigno Aquino III, finally broke her silence regarding the issue her being the target for kidnap of the terrorist group Abu Sayyaf.
In a text message Kris sent to Philippine Entertainment Porta (PEP.ph), the youngest of the Aquino siblings said that she is not in the position to say anything else.
The following is the official statement via text message:
“My blood pressure today was elevated again, 140/95. I had a migraine for most of the afternoon.
“I don't want to add any information because I just don't want to continue making myself a target.
“All things are temporary, but getting through the tough times unscathed and with faith and dignity intact is really one of life's challenges that I just need to hurdle.
“I hope you understand that I'm really not in any position to say more. Good night.”
It can be recalled that the President mentioned, in his official statement dated April 27, that both his youngest sister Kris and boxing champion Manny Pacquiao are facing risks of being kidnapped by the ASG.
Aquino’s statement states: “They allegedly even hatched plots to kidnap Manny Pacquiao or one of his children, as well as my sister Kris or one of her children, with the plan to use them in bargaining for the release of their cohorts.”
This came after the beheading of Canadian national John Ridsdel on Monday, April 25.
After the statement was published, PEP.ph, via editor-in-chief Jo-Ann, tried to ask for Kris’ opinion.
However, Kris declined to comment on the said issues, just like how she kept mum about the issue regarding the presidential chopper she used for the Liberal Party campaigns.
Her silence regarding these issues came after she said she is now focusing her attention towards her health and her two sons, Joshua and Bimby. Kris also claimed to have paused from work, not even renewing his contract with ABS-CBN. This is seconded with Kris’ absence on social media.
Thankfully, Kris finally heeded the call and decided to issue a statement via PEP.ph to put an end to the issue.
