There are many great people in the world who do many great thing, and this 11-year-old boy from Shenzhen, China was one of them.
"There are many people doing great things in the world. They are great, and I want to be a great kid too."
A final show of respect, of honor, and a final prayer as doctors bow to the body of an 11-year-old boy from China.
Liang Yaoyi was only 9 years old when doctors had discovered the brain tumor that had ultimately claimed his life.
The tumor came without warning. Liang had one day felt dizzy, and the next he could hardly walk. That was when doctors had made the fatal discovery.
After two operations, medical professionals were at a loss. They had to tell young Liang's mother, Li Qun the grave prognosis: Liang had not long to live.
Before his death at age 11, the brave Liang insisted that his organs must be donated.
He said that there are many people in the world who do great things. He wanted to be one of them.
Doctors were able to salvage his liver and kidneys for donation. As can be seen in this heartbreaking photo, it was indeed a great act on Liang's part.
In his death, he had also given life. The young boy had also remarked before his death that in some sense he will be able to live on in others.
But Liang will always live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew him and admired him for his selflessness and compassion.
