Makati Business Club gathering highlights presidential prime candidate Mayor Rodrigo Duterte as he conveys his message to prohibit consumption of alcohol on pathway and sidewalk public areas otherwise known as ‘street-side drinking sessions’ in the event that he becomes president.
Duterte unleashes intimidating words to those who will violate his new order:
“Iyang nag-iinom sa daan, tapos iyan. Iyang mga nag-iinom sa daan daan, p****g i*a wag kang magpapakita, sasagasaan kita,” he said. (Those who consume alcohol by the sidewalk, you’re finished. Those who drink at public areas causing commotion and disturbing the peace, don’t let me see you. I will run you over.)”
Duterte’s reputation as Mayor of Davao City spotlights his iron-fist authority, exercising strict nearly severe methods in light of discipline among Davao City residents hunting down offenders, would be criminals, and convicts.
A bulk of the prime candidate’s crusade is concentrated on eliminating any form of delinquency, misconduct, criminality, and corruption by any means necessary.
One of the most notorious and debatable assurances that Duterte has ever made is to remove criminality and corruption completely in the entire country in the span of three to six months. How he plans to achieve this is yet to be seen, though his competitors believe that the feat is close to impossible.
Another notable statement made from the prime candidate during the MBC gathering is his impending order to the country’s police and military to give no mercy to the country’s underworld drug dealers who refused to surrender to his new order.
''Yung mga drug lords, sabihin ko talaga sa military and police: 'Go out and hunt them, arrest them.' If they refuse and offer a violent resistance, I will personally order you to kill them,''' he said.
(To all the illegal drug dealers out there, I will make it clear to the authorities: ‘Go out and hunt them, arrest them.’ If they refuse and offer a violent resistance, I will personally order you to kill them.)”
