KAMI learned from Abs-cbn news that the third and final reading marked the approval of a bill extending the expiry of Philippine passports from 5 to 10 years on Monday.
Senate Bill No. 1365, also known as the Philippine Passport Act, was authored by lawmakers Richard Gordon, Cynthia Villar, JV Ejercito, Loren Legarda, Sonny Angara, Joel Villanueva, Grace Poe, Alan Peter Cayetano and Senate President Pro-Tempore Ralph Recto.
This was approved with 18 affirmative votes, zero negative vote and zero abstention.

According to Senate Committee on Foreign Relations vice-chair Cynthia Villar, this bill aims to prolong validity of Philippine passports to have easier travelling abroad especially for the OFWs.
