- Just recently, alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles has been acquitted by the Court of Appeals (CA) from her serious illegal detention case involving her cousin and former aide Benhur Luy
- On May 15nd, the anti-graft court's First and Third Divisions ordered Janet Lim-Napoles' detention at Camp Bagong Diwa
- According to reports spotted by Kami.com.ph, the justices' order stemmed from the state prosecutors' motion and the lack of evidence to support Napoles' claims of danger
On May 15, Monday, the Sandiganbayan First Division ordered that Janet Lim Napoles be detained at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City, following the motion filed by prosecutors
The first Division is the court in charge of Napoles' plunder and graft cases relating to her alleged involvement in the pork barrel scam along with former Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr.
On the same day, Sandiganbayan Third Division also ordered the transfer of Napoles to Camp Bagong Diwa.
The Third Division of the Sandiganbayan handles Napoles' cases with former Senator Juan Ponce Enrile over the alleged pork barrel scam.
Both First Division Acting Chairperson Geraldine Faith Econg and Third Division Chairperson and Presiding Justice Amparo Cabotaje-Tan had denied Napoles' request to be placed under the custody of NBI.
Econg and Cabotaje-Tan also said that it is the mandate of BJMP to take "custody and safekeeping" of people "awaiting investigation or trial."
As of writing, only the Fifth Division, which handles Napoles' pork barrel scam cases with former senator Jinggoy Estrada, has yet to issue a resolution regarding Napoles' motion for safekeeping under the custody of the NBI.
