Our railway systems have been around for years. And while we are grateful for them for making our daily commutes much less of a hassle and travel times cut shorter, we can’t help but also notice, even criticize, its system and operations.
Lo and behold, good news has come!
Transport Secretary Arturo Tugade announced that the Philippine government has agreed with Japan on the P300 billion proposed project for the Metro Manila subway system.
Tugade assured that there will be transparency and full disclosure on the works and proceedings of the said project, such as conducting a live bidding.
The deal was said to have been sealed in Cambodia during the World Economic Forum.

Signing of the agreement will follow, which is set to happen in November during the ASEAN Summit which will be in Manila.
Some of the platforms Duterte addressed in the forum were on bringing down the cost of power, gaining new investments, and other infrastructure projects.
