Jimmy Kimmel was in tears when he appeared in the latest episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"
Anyone will also empathize with Kimmel's story. His story is actually about the miracle happened to his newborn son, Billy.
Before he began his monologue, he appeared close to tears and assured his viewers his story had a happy ending. He and his wife welcomed the new member of the family and they named him William (but they're calling him Billy). After a few hours of delivery, a nurse noticed that the baby's face was purple.
After that, she alerted the doctors and they discovered that the baby had a congenital heart disease. The baby underwent emergency open heart surgery to repair one of the holes. Kimmel said, it was "the longest three hours of my life” and the surgery was successful.
The former U.S. President Barack Obama responded to Kimmel's speech. The former president applauded Kimmel's remarks on slashing NIH funding.
