In an interview for last night’s episode of “Tonight with Boy Abunda,” Daniel Padilla released his statement on his “mag-anak” joke and Min Bernardo, Kathryn Bernardo’s mom shared her thoughts on the issue.
During the Himig Handog P-pop Love songs competition 2016 last Sunday, Daniel Padilla was asked what he wishes to do now that he’s 21. The actor nonchalantly said that now that he’s 21 years old, “baka puwede na ‘kong mag-anak.” (Maybe I can’t have a child of my own.) Right after that, however, he quickly said that it was only a joke. Everyone was left speechless and Kathryn Bernardo was seen blushing and sweating from what DJ has just said.
Fast forward to Daniel’s 21st surprise birthday earlier this week, Daniel clarified his statement from that night. “Gusto ko lang makakuha yung mga taong nanonood ng ibang sagot, so bigyan natin sila nang ika-shoshock nila. Pero gusto kong mag-anak, pero hindi pa ngayon.“(I just wanted to give a different answer to the people watching so I gave them something that would shock them. But I do want to have a child, just not now.)
The crew of “Tonight with Boy Abunda” also interviewed Kathryn Bernardo’s mom, Min Bernardo, that night. After hearing the issue, Min was asked if she would still join the two as a chaperone wherever they go especially during their upcoming shoot in Barcelona. Kathryn’s mom answered gleefully: “Kasama rin kaya ako doon!” (I’ll also be joining them there.) She said that she trusts the two because “lahat naman sinasabi nila sa akin eh.” (They tell me everything.) Min is “a cool mom” and all she can say about this issue is “kapag nagkakaintindihan, walang sikreto.” (Just as long as we understand each other, there won’t be any secrets.)
