KAMI saw the Facebook post of Mr. Evan Tan about how people justify brutality of policemen to a gay man who he mistakenly identified as a girl in one of his posts.
On his earlier post, he shared a video of policemen beating up a gay man. One of them also drew a gun and pointed it to the victim. He identified the victim as a girl.
But after that post, he was shocked as he received series of messages from angry netizens stating that the victim was a gay man and not a girl. Some also threatened him from stating false news.
"I didn't want to post these messages, but the thinly-veiled threat was the last straw.
It's just terrible how people justify the unnecessary brutality because the victim is not a girl (LGBT hate crime alert, by the way), and that they are a thief (uhm, is due process not a thing anymore? Are we in the dark ages? To Christians: goodbye Matthew 5:21; hello Old Testament justice? )"
