Pinoy ermitanyo from Iloilo has been stuck in Mindanao for 26 years already

- It turned out that the man is really from Iloilo but has been stuck in Mindanao for the past 26 years already
- He is now asking netizens to help him get back to his family by sharing his story on social media
A group of concerned Filipino citizens encountered a man in Mindanao who has been trying to get home for 26 years already. He needs our help to get back to his family!
KAMI learned about Vergelio Bernesto Fernando’s story from a viral post on All About the Philippines’ Facebook page.

According to the netizen who shared the story, Vergilio was 19 years old when he and other bamboo cutters from Iloilo went to Mindanao for a contractual work.
Unfortunately, Vergilio was left behind when the cutters returned to Mindanao.
Because of his lack of money and knowledge about traveling, Vergilio has been unable to go back to his family in Iloilo.
He has been stuck in Mindanao for the past 26 years but he still longs to see his family again. Vergilio is now 45 years old.

“Di nya alam panu nun umuwi pbalik kasi hndi naman nya sweto ang mga lugar ng mindanao kaya nagbabasakali sya..naging palaboy laboy at palipat lipat lang ng lugar...umiextra ng kaht anu para lang may pambiling pagkain at makaipon sana ng pamasahe pauwi ng Iloilo.
“Pero nabigo dn po syang makaipon nun dhil tanging pagkain lang minsan ang bnabayad sa mga extrang trbho nya.Dahil sa pagkadismaya at kawalan ng pag-asang makauwi ng Iloilo ay pinili nalang mabuhay dito sa Mindanao hanggang sa nakarating sya sa BRGY.GREENHILLS MUNICIPALITY NG PRESIDENT ROXAS NORTH COTABATO.
“Di rin cya nakapag asawa para magkaroon ng pamilya,wala man lang syang pernamenteng mapasukang trbho nun at pakyawan lng kung merun.Kaya lubusan na talaga sya nawalan ng pag-asa at para di narn pabigat sa mga taong nilalapitan nya nun minabuti nyang lumayo sa mataong lugar at gumawa ng maliit na payag(yun nasa picture yan po ung bahay nya) na halos kunting ihip lang ng hangin ay maaring magiba dahl di rin matibay ang kanyang paggawa…

“Nagbebenta lang sya minsan ng mga gulay na nahahanap nya sa paligid,suso at shell na galing sapa para maitawaid ang kanyang pagkain… kaht anung sipag nya magbanat ng buto para makaipon ng pera pauwi ng iloilo ay di parn kaya...
“Ako bilang tao tanging pagpost nalang ang maitulong ko para mahanap si kuya ng kanyang mga kamag-anak sa ILOILO at humihingi ng tulong para makauwi na sa kanyang kapamilya na 26 years nya ng di nakita at nakasama.”
