A mother in Georgia asked police officers to arrest her misbehaving 10-year-old son.
But it was only a mock-arrest meant “to give him a scare,” said Chiquita Hill, the boy’s mother.
She said her son Sean had been rude and disrespectful in class. He would talk back and ignore his school work.
His teacher had even gone to their house to speak with him, but he wouldn’t listen, Hill said.
She decided to call the Columbus Police Department and asked for help. "I knew I had to do something to shock him," she said.
Sean didn’t believe police officers were coming to their house. “When they showed up to the door, that's when it hit him," Hill said.
The police officers arrived and put Sean in handcuffs. They led him into the police car. The boy was crying hysterically.
“He was scared," Hill said.
After he was let out of the police car, Sean ran to his mother and gave her “the biggest hug.” Hill said he promised to behave.
She said she didn’t regret what she did. “With all the things going on in Missouri and in Baltimore, I want to stop anything from happening while he's young and impressionable," she said.
