Kapuso hunk Aljur Abrenica, who takes on the lead role in the upcoming primetime series Once Again, admitted his mistakes in the past and considered his return to GMA Network a “second coming.”
In an article in PEP, Abrenica did not want to see his return as a “second-chance.”
“Pag sinabi kasing second chance it’s like you asked… binigyan ka na ulit ng pagkakataon,” he explained, “Second coming, walang nangyari.”
The singer-actor also said that the two parties have already talked it over and that he has learned from his own mistakes.
“Naiintindihan na nila yung pinanggagalingan natin. Pero yung ginawa natin was mali,” he said.
Abrenica even likens the situation to that of a father-son relationship: “Bilang isang ama, ganun din ang mga magulang sa anak nila pag nagkakamali, tinuturuan nila ng leksyon ‘yan.”
He admitted that he also made a mistake in the past but maintained that he will stick with his principles.
“Opo! Sinabi po natin 'yan; inaamin ko po na mali ang naging paraan po natin. Pero yung pinanggalingan ko po sa kamalian na yun, paninindigan ko po yun dahil iyon po sa tingin ko ay tama at hindi po siya masama,” he said.
Back in July 2014, the Kapuso hunk filed a complaint in court to terminate his contract with GMA Network. With his legal counsel Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, Abrenica filed for a Judicial Confirmation of Rescission of Contract in the Quezon City Hall of Justice.
In the past, Abrenica expressed his wish to have a fruitful dialogue with the TV network and settle the issues regarding his contract.
“Ako po yung huling tao na magdedesisyon na malagay sa ganitong kalagayan. Pero po, e, dahil po hindi po ako nabibigyan ng pagpapahalaga at respeto sa career na gusto ko,” he was quoted as saying.
“At ipinagdarasal ko rin po na pagkatapos po nito ay magkaroon pa din po ng magandang relasyon ang dalawang panig, dahil hindi ko po makakalimutan ang pinagsamahan naming,” he added.
Given the recent turn of events, it seems that all is well between GMA network and the Kapuso hunk.
Abrenica is a product of the StarStruck Season 4, a talent search of GMA Network where he won as the Ultimate Hunk in 2007.
Some of his shows in the past include Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan (2007), Dyesebel (2008), Luna Mystica (2008), Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?(2009), All My Life (2009), The Last Prince (2010), Ilumina (2010), Coffee Prince (2012), Kambal Sirena (2014), and the TV remake of Machete in 2011.
He also had a self-titled album in 2010 under GMA Records.
