In this time and age, ‘Google before you click’ is the new ‘think before you speak.’ Seeing how simple posts and photos could easily go viral on social media, it is proper that netizens exercise caution and responsibility on the things they put online.
However, one particular netizen learned it the hard way when he shared one of his most recent Uber rides without knowing the whole story first.
On his Twitter profile, the MAPUA student urged others to be more understanding and polite towards Uber drivers. He even added that there’s also a possibility that an error may occur in the app which is not the fault of the driver.
Furthermore, the student attached two photos in the post which reveal a conversation between the driver and one of his UberPool passengers with the latter appearing to be disrespectful.
Unfortunately, he failed to blur out the contact information of the passenger which brought new problems in the form of hate messages and at one point, threats.

This escalated the series of events, with the passengers in question confronting him for his actions. Turns out, the Uber driver was actually at fault for not picking up the passengers when he arrived at their location but drove past them instead.
Although they asked for the driver to cancel their booking because of the incident, the latter refused to do so as it may reroute his trip.
Nonetheless, after having a heated argument between the MAPUA student and the passengers, they managed to settle their dispute with the former deleting his post.
