How would it make you feel to discover the whole storage of your childhood treasures after not seeing them for more than five decades?
After World War II ended, Rudi Schlattner and his entire family had to flee his native Czechoslovakia, running from the Soviets and abandoning their lovely house.
A week ago, the 80-year-old man and his family decided to go back to his house for the first time since the unvoidble escape.
Rudy clearly remembered what his father told him not long before he passed away. It turned out that the old man hid the whole bunch of their personal belongings in their attic.
After more than five decades, it was hard for Rudi to find the exact hiding place, but the 70 packages his father told him about were eventually found under the roof.
Rudi found a loose board with a string hanging from it – when he pulled the string and discovered his father's hidden treasure!
Eventually, several employees from a museum in the nearby town of Usti nad Labem were invited over, and they began cataloging all of the items.
Though each item meant a great deal to Rudi, he knew that they were a part of an incredible collection of history and didn't mind presenting his childhood items to the government.
