From stray to king. A stressed and anxious dog with an infected wound was rescued just in time.
Read about the wonderful Jay in this AmoMama story. The stray dog had very nearly died from an infectious head wound. Thankfully rescuers had found him just in time to safe his life and give him a home.
Animal Unlimited in India had received an urgent call about a dog in a nearby neighborhood that was in desperate need of attention.
Rescuers rushed to the scene to find a distressed dog with a serious wound to the head. The poor creature was frightened and starving.
One of the rescuers had carefully approached the dog, offering treats in hopes to lure him closer. Desperate for food, the dog went closer with much distrust and hesitation.
Finally, the dog had come close enough for the rescuer to feed him, but not to touch him. That took a few more treats and a lot more patience.
"He was so scared but we knew his healing had just begun."
Watch the video below to see how they had finally managed to catch and treat the poor animal. Be warned that the video does have some graphic images.
But the ending is beautiful, so please do watch the clip.

"Without treatment, this young handsome boy would not have survived."
The dog had refused to let rescuers come too close. They're hopes had been to earn his trust and catch him by hand.
Unfortunately that was not an option for them. Their final hope was to use a net to capture the dog without causing further harm.
Once they had finally secured the anxious animal they rushed him to their medical center to treat the wound which had already been invested with maggots.
Had they found him only a few days later it would have been too late.
After successful treatment, and after six weeks of tender love and care, the dog had made miraculous recovery.
His rescuers had named him Jay, and they had earned his trust. Jay is no longer the scared and anxious dog that they had found in the streets.
He is now their pal, and he is always smiling.
How wonderful that a stray like Jay got a second chance and a loving home. Please share his story, and share the wonderful work that rescue centers like Animal Aid Unlimited do for animals like Jay.
