A passenger bus fell off a ravine in Carranglan, Nueva Ecija at around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, killing at least 32 people and injuring at least 22.
KAMI learned about the tragedy from GMA News.
According to bystanders, the LeoMaric bus was speeding when it fell into a ravine with a height of about 80 to 100 feet.
The passenger bus was bound for Candon, Ilocos Sur. It was in a total wreck after the fall.
The dead victims include 18 females, seven males and one child. The injured were rushed to a hospital in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya.
Carranglan Mayor Mary Abad explained that the location of the tragedy is an accident-prone area.
“Accident-prone iyang highway going to Abra. Maraming bangin, zigzag ‘yan,” the Mayor said.
(That highway going to Abra is accident-prone. There are a lot of ravines and zigzags.)
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
