- One inspiring netizen shared her life-changing story with KAMI.com.ph
- Loida Concepcion Bauto used to live a normal life just like most of us until she was diagnosed with AVM or Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) on August 7, 2013
- After undergoing several major operations, she was deprived of doing simple things such as walking and writing, but she takes it as a blessing
"You may say that life has been so good for me before.
"I graduated CumLaude B.S. interior design from the University of Santo Tomas and ranked 4th place in the October 2012 Interior Designers Licensure Examination in the Philippines.
"But life changes may be so abrupt, mine changed August 7, 2013.
"I was diagnosed with AVM of the brain (Arteriovenous Malformation) at the age of 21, suffered 2 major strokes in August 2013, had 2 major operations on year 2013 - an open-skull surgery on Sept 2013 & reconstruction of my trachea on Dec 2013; and Gamma knife Radiosurgery on February 2015."
It has been almost three years, but Loida still can't walk the way she used to.
She's an interior designer but struggles to write her own name on a piece of paper.
Her sickness made a huge twist on her well-being. But that doesn't stop her from celebrating life and in fact, it makes her even stronger.
In Loida's own words:
"Kaya kung nakakalakad ka naman, malakas at malusog o may mga kaibigan at pamilya, tapos lulungkot lungkot ka dyan...MAGTIGIL KA DYAN. Lipat ko 'tong sakit ko saiyo eh. Sinasabi ko sa'yo, marami ka man problema, mas masarap harapin ito ng malakas ang katawan."
