In this day and age when the youth are mostly focused on finding romance and obsessing whether forever exists, there are still some who remain persistent and dedicated on studying.
Actually, a certain 12-year old from the city of Mabalacat, Pampanga has his eyes set on his goals and was not sidetracked in any way which led to his incredible collection of 58 medals. Can you believe it?
One of this child’s relatives, Cess Salvador, sent the inspiring tale to KAMI, which would surely make you pause in awe and admiration.
It was only earlier this month when Joshua Santiago graduated from Mabiga Mabalacat Elementary School, but it wasn’t just a regular event. On that day, Joshua became the recipient of the outstanding number of medals and awards which you could consider as the fruit of his efforts in being an athlete and devoted student.
Joshua doesn’t have the most advantageous set-up in life either. He lived separately from his parents, and was welcomed in the home of his swimming coach Edmond Gavalvin instead.
Although it posed a challenge to his life, this 12-year old opted to look into the brighter side and finished his elementary years with flying colors – making his parents and the rest of his supporters proud. Joshua even made it to the Palarong Pambansa with his perseverance and discipline!
This inspiring child’s life has caught the attention of a couple of radio stations which they had interviews with.
He definitely has more to look forward to in his future given his positive outlook in life and amazing sense of responsibility. Hopefully, other children would look up to Joshua and consider him as a role model!
