Druzhok the dog showed his loyalty in the purest way possible.
Druzhok, a Caucasian Shepherd only 4 years old, exuded loyalty as he stood guard over his family's home that was ravaged by floods.
His owners, the Andrews from the eastern part of Russia, left their home when a flood struck them in 2013.
Their family was one among so many impacted by the flooding. Initially, they stayed with relatives in an apartment. However, Druzhok couldn't stay inside the transient home, so he stayed outside.
But by their 3rd day with their relatives, Druzhok could not be found.
As his family searched for him using an inflatable boat, they saw him by the door of their flooded house. Druzhok was sitting on the upper step. Half of him was under the water.
The rescue workers relayed to his family that Druzhok would make sure no one came to their house and made sure that he would not be moved.
Yet, when Druzhok saw his family, he swam towards them.
Elana, the owner of Druzhok said that the water was really deep around their home. Hence, Druzhok couldn't run, so he swam. Although he was shaking from the cold, he wouldn't leave.
However, when Druzhok saw them, he was joyous. When they got him to their boat, he licked all of them.
As soon as Druzhok was safe and sound with his family, they knew not to leave him by himself again. They made sure he stayed with friends where Druzhok could stay inside.
