While cleaning out the house of his deceased grandparents, Reddit user, VSKY made an astonishing discovery.
Him and his family were all pitching in to give the old house a good clean-out. That's when they discovered a hidden room, and inside it, a very suspicious safe.
Imagine their surprise when they discovered that their sweet old grandparents had a safe full secrets; a life full of secrets that they kept hidden from the family.
It was evidently an antique safe. It's mere appearance had 'mystery' and 'secret' written all over it. Curiosity got the better of them and the safe needed to be cracked.
Some cunning investigative work revealed that the safe's combination was hidden on a rafter in the garage. They were stunned by the contents of the safe!
It looked to be the stash of two professional bank robbers. Guns?! Bags full of money?! A deed to a property that no one knew about?! It certainly looked very suspicious.
The coins dated between the late 1800s and 1964. Their value has been estimated to be approximately $15 000. They were still neatly stored in their respective bags from The State Bank of Centuria; The First National Bank of Minneapolis; and The State Union Bank.
The grandparents built their house 50 years ago. Who knows what other secrets the house might hide? What else would it yet reveal about their past? Were they really bank robbers, or is there another, more plausible, explanation?
