She was already turning pale from lack of oxygen. The child was locked inside a hot vehicle with all windows shut and doors locked.
When police arrived at the scene they knew they had to act quick. Their number one priority was safety, and this baby did not look safe.
Officers from the Oakland Police Department were quick to smash through the side window of a parked car to rescue a baby who appeared to have suffocated and fainted.
She showed no response when officers reached her in the back seat where she was trapped inside her car seat.
Much to their embarrassment, the baby had in fact not fainted, and it was not hurt or dead, but it was also not alive. Are you a little puzzled and confused right now?
So were they when they realized that the baby was actually a life-like doll. Thanks to their fast action they did not waste time in confirming the baby's condition. Their immediate response was to get to her and to ensure her safety.
Emergency responders were called to the scene after the 'baby' was reported to have been locked inside the car. It seems the life-like doll had quite a day of mischief!
As funny as this incident might sound, it is the 'act-first-inquire-later' approach to emergencies that make these men the heroes that they are.
