- In Metro Manila, the transportation services provided by taxi companies have a different reality from the rest of the world
- For an average passenger, the difficulty of boarding a taxi is clearly distinct from the time the taxi is hailed
- The realities of the road teach passengers about the taxi system, which has its own rules and regulations that are not necessarily in accordance to what is right and just
It is this reality that pissed off a netizen, who in her anger, had taken to Facebook to vent her frustrations of the current taxi system.
In a Facebook post made by a netizen named Marnelli Lloveras Tambio, she shared hers and her dad's unpleasant experience with one taxi driver.
The driver, according to her had demanded to know their destination and negotiated a steep price amounting to Php 700, which is way beyond and above the typical taximeter rate to Bagong Silang in Caloocan.
Having been offered such a steep rate, her father had declined the driver and they waited for another taxi to come.
This situation, though common in the metro, made Marnelli so angry that she took the photo of the driver and ranted about the incident on Facebook.
The post had ended with a wish that God will bless the driver, though it is unclear whether the wish is sincere or dripping with sarcasm.
