A Filipina has made all K-Pop fans in the country proud when she made it to a Korean talent show’s grand finals.
Originally from Cebu City, Kriesha Tiu won the favor of judges when she performed ‘Swing Baby’ by JYP on SBS’s reality talent search, ‘K-Pop Star 6.’
She was joined by fellow contestants, Kim So Hee and Kim Hyerim, who make up the girl group ‘KWINs.’
KAMI has learned from Coconuts Manila that the judges were extremely impressed with Tiu. Among the judges was JYP Entertainment’s Park Jin-young who described Tiu’s song and dance number as ‘refreshing’ and even claimed that she ‘perfectly captured the feeling of the swing dance and song.’
Other widely renowned celebrities who consist the pool of judges are Yang Hyun-suk from YG Entertainment and You Hee-yeol from Antenna Music.
Tiu was already eliminated back in January, but after wowing the judges, she was saved and brought back to the competition.
The performer was discovered by a scouting agent when she was in San Francisco, California. Tiu, along with her mother and younger brother, then proceeded to fly to Korea for the show.
She is currently under the management of a Korean agency, Urban Works ENT.
If Tiu manages to win in the grand finals, she would be debuted with the assistance of the three major companies.
