Kapamilya actress Janella Salvador has fallen victim to a phishing scam, losing P110,000 in her Metrobank debit account after checking her statement of account.
According to an interview of ABS-CBN with Janella’s mother, the statement of account shows that a total of P110K was lost to transactions at the Disneyland in Tokyo, Japan.
But after checking the dates, it turned out that Janella was in the Phillippines during those times.
The actress expressed her sadness and disappointment that such a big amount of money could be stolen by hackers from people who work hard and honestly.
Metrobank has released a statement, saying that it is already investigating the matter as well as other reports of theft from some of their customers.
“We make sure that all complaints undergo through investigation and we take it as our responsibility to resolve issues and restitute conclusively-proven fraud,” the bank stated.
