Lucy Torres-Gomez has proved that she is a beauty with not just the brains, but also with a lot of heart.

The congresswoman of Leyte's fourth district was able to light 76 homes, which is around 380 people, in her area of jurisdiction due to her passion project.

This endeavor, called Truest Society, sold candles whose proceeds were used to buy solar lamps for schoolchildren who live in remote villages in Palompon, Leyte.

Although her scented candles are not by means the cheapest, the sales generated by the product was able to help out people close to her heart.

The candles are available in three variants and cost about P2,000.

Since they hit off right away, Lucy has added other items in her brand - a set of soaps, packing cubes, and pouches.

Truest Society has been in the market since 2015 but its products continue to get more press not just for its aesthetic, but also its advocacy.
