Gomez couple of Ormoc City supports Bongbong's bid

Actor-mayoral contender Richard Gomez of Ormoc City along with his wife, Leyte Envoy Lucy Torres-Gomez voiced out their support for Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., vice presidential candidate.

Sen. Marcos Jr., along with Marcos family matriarch and former first lady Imelda Marcos, crossed paths on Sunday with actor Richard Gomez. He is pursuing a position in Ormoc City as mayor. In the said meeting, Lucy was absent due to a delay in her flight.

Gomez is active under the Nationalist People’s Coalition while sequentially, Lucy, who is hoping for re-election for the 4th district, through the Liberal Party. This marks the fourth time that Richard is seeking an elective position.

He ran but unattained the senator post in 2007, disqualified as congressman in 2010, and lost his mayoral command in Ormoc City in 2013.

Ormoc City Mayor Edward Codilla, who is contending against Gomez, also expressed support for Marcos in a different meet.

While his wife Violy is also running against Lucy, resulting in a battle between the two teams of husband and wife. Codilla of the United People’s Coalition stated that he was crossing party lines for Marcos.
