Despite efforts to stop the spread of fake news, the increasing popularity of social media makes it easy to amplify hoaxes, propaganda, and disinformation.
Getting photos and mixing it with a few believable details and a lot of false information has become so simple that the act itself no longer takes imagination.
If these falsehoods reach beyond the highest vestige of the society, you can just imagine how easy it is to just throw shade at a normal person.

Such was the case of this woman, who was incorrectly tagged as the cheating wife of an alleged overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in an article first published on another online news portal. The article had provoked some rather colorful comments, mocking the woman for driving the poor man to his death.
In a statement released to Kami.com.ph, the woman in the photo categorically denied the issue and sent a photo which proves that the video in the article was not of an OFW who killed himself.
"I just want to clean my name .... Someone using my old picture and they put some caption (sic) na hind ku naman ginawa," the woman said in a message to Kami.com.ph.

In this picture, it was clarified that no such incident happened in Saudi Arabia. The suicide, according to the caption, happened in Bab Ezzouar in Algiers City.
This is the video clip showing the man who committed suicide on the crane:
