Mocha Uson eager to uphold change on Philippine television

- Dancer-turned-blogger Mocha Uson shared the changes she wants to bring about on local TV as a new MTRCB board member

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea confirmed on Thursday the appointment of singer and blogger Mocha Uson as Movie and Television Review And Classification Board (MTRCB) board member.

As reported by GMA News, Mocha, Margaux Uson in real life, said that she did not ask for the position but it was offered to her.

According to her, one of the things she will do as board member of MTRCB is to wipe out obscenity from Philippine TV.

"Mas interesado ako dito sa telebisyon na magkaroon ng pagbabago sa mga programa, na mawala na ang soft p*rn at kalaswaan," the founder of the all-female group Mocha Girls added.

"Napagdaanan ko 'yon, na-experience ko 'yon at nagbago na nga ako," she furthered.

The staunch supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte shared that she will continue to use her blog to propagate information and obtain the pulse of the masses in relation to creating changes on TV.

“She is a very good choice because she abounds with common sense and knows the pulse of the public well,” Senate Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III said in a text message, referring to Mocha's appointment.

Meanwhile, Presidential Communications Office head Secretary Martin Andanar believed that Mocha is “one of the biggest artists” in the country.

"Mocha is an artist. She is one of the biggest artists that we have in the country. She's been in the show business world for more than a decade. She's one of the biggest bloggers that we have in the Philippines, very influential," Andanar stressed.
