Jasmin Britney, 26, was left paralysed at nine when she was hit by a car that made her fly 23 meters down the road. She claims the driver was texting at the time and only spotted her crossing the road when it was too late.
After this life changing accident the young girl from Finland has refused to let her condition get her down, instead she has used them to her advantage, becoming the world’s first quadriplegic human Barbie.
As one of Jasmin Katarina Koskiranta idols was the pop artist Britney Spears she even decided to change her name in honour of the star.
She said: “I post my pictures online to inspire other people who have spinal injuries or live with debilitating conditions, and I refuse to believe I won’t walk again.
The model, writer and designer prides herself on spending a lot of time on her appearance, and never goes for a natural makeup look. Jasmin also opts for glam clothes and high heels, preferably by her favourite designer Christian Louboutin, whenever she goes out.
Jasmin, who is and was born Jasmin Katarina Koskiranta, now spends a large part of her time working for charities and as a counsellor for other other people who are either quadriplegic or suffering with a life-changing illness.
She explained: “People may think it’s crazy that a quadriplegic wear high heels but why not, I want to look amazing.”
As a child Jasmin was a big Spice Girls fan, and it was when she was walking to buy some Spice Girls lollipops in her hometown of Helsinki, Finland, that she was hit by a car.
