When Brett Marie Christian was diagnosed with leukemia her dream of dancing in her homecoming dance, and being crowned as the homecoming queen was destroyed because she wasn’t in good shape.
The 15-year-old girl was devastated so the sophomores from Palmyra High decided to hold the event early and bring the party to her.
Her boyfriend, Treyton Carter, even brought her a corsage and a necklace, and they danced in the commons room with at least 50 of their classmates, who were also dressed up for the homecoming.
At the end of the night, Brett Marie was crowned as the homecoming queen. It was the perfect ending for a perfect night.
But sadly, reality struck three days later, when Brett Marie passed away with her family all around.
The girl had a kind of leukemia that hits mostly adults and is the most dangerous, with only a 30 percent survival rate.
Brett´s mom said she was tired of fighting but despite this she did a lot of preparation and pampering for the dance.
She wore a beautiful pink dress and fixed her hair in curls, she even got a manicure and pedicure.
Brett´s mom also said the dance was hard for the family and friends but it was a blessing at the same time because at the end, she got the last dance that she deserved.
