Himig Handog: BaiLona gets most awards; Itchyworms wins Best Song

BaiLona wins most of the special awards, but the night's big winner is Itchyworms' "Dalawang Letra", which was named Best Song at the Himig Handog Pinoy Pop (P-Pop) Love Songs 2016 competition on Sunday, April 24.

"Dalawang Letra" was written by former Pinoy Dream Academy contestant Davey Langit. He received P1 million as grand prize.


On Instagram, Langit thanked friends, musicians, and fellow songwriters who supported and believed in him.

He also gave special mention to Itchyworms band members who interpreted his song: "Couldn't have done it without your genius as well. Aylabyuguyzzz!"


Second Best Song was awarded to "Monumento" written by Jungee Marcolo and performed by Kyla and Kris Lawrence.


Third Best Song is David Dimaguila's "Laban Pa", interpreted by KZ Tandingan and Jay R.


Jolina Magdangal's "Tama Lang" won 4th Best Song. It was written by Agatha and Melvin Morallos.


"Parang Tayo Pero Hindi" by Marlon Barnuevo was named 5th Best Song. It was interpreted by Michael Pangilinan and Angeline Quinto.


Bailey May and Ylona Garcia's duet "O Pag-ibig" received most of the special awards: MOR Choice, TFC Global Choice, One Music PH's Favorite Interpreter, and MYX's Best Music Video. The song was composed by Honlani Rabe and Jack Rufo.


The Star Music Listener award was given to Aries Sales' "Nyebe," interpreted by Kaye Cal.


Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs is a nationwide multimedia songwriting competition produced by ABS-CBN.
